Tobermore among top 100 companies in UK as profits rise

Tobermore Ltd. has been ranked at number 66 on the 2015 Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100 league table. This prestigious league table ranks the top 100 private companies across the UK with the fastest-growing profits.

As one of only three Northern Ireland based companies to be shortlisted, this is a remarkable achievement for the local paving and walling manufacturer.

David Henderson, Managing Director at Tobermore, has commented on this success, “We are absolutely delighted that Tobermore has been recognised in this UK growth table.

“With the introduction of new product lines and the growth of the Tobermore team nationally, the last year has been a very exciting time for the company.

Founded in 1942 as a modest sand and gravel business, David reflected on Tobermore’s growth and development throughout the years: “We’ve always tried to set ourselves apart in the marketplace with our world class product quality, our innovative manufacturing processes and our first class customer service – it is simply quality like no other!

“We hope to continue our success in the coming years as the construction industry returns to growth.”

The company made their debut on the highly renowned league table after their increased profits on an average of 51 percent a year to £3.1 million in 2014, with UK exports making up 60 percent of the company’s overall sales.

In line with the company’s recent profit success, Tobermore has created close to 40 jobs across production, sales and administration for the local community.
