Tobermore to host community events to mark VE Day

Tobermore Business Developments Ltd are celebrating along with the community a poignant anniversary to mark the 70th Anniversary of Victory in Europe.

Residents are urded to come along to the celebration which features a great WW2 exhibition by David McCallion from War Years Remembered.

On show will be military vehicles, equipment, music and dance, a Home Front display, living history re-encactment and an encampment.

There will also be a climbing tower and recruiting stand by the 1st (Northern Ireland) Battalion Army Cadet Force, stalls, inflatables, fancy dress competition & BBQ.

All proceeds on the day will go to support the proposed War Memorial for Tobermore. A great family day out something for everyone to enjoy.

The event will run from 11am until 4pm.

Meanwhile, the Tobermore Community Projects will be holding the Annual General Meeting on the 25th May at 7:30pm in the conference room at Tobermore Business Centre, 6 Desertmartin Road, Tobermore. Anyone wishing to come along to join the community group, new members are more than welcome.
