Told police that he was Spider-Man and Batman and ran off

An Edendork man who told police that he was Spider-Man and Batman after 'taking delight' in holding up traffic has been given a suspended prison sentence.

Conal Keogh, 23, from Coalisland Road, had been found guilty of disorderly behaviour, jaywalking, assault on police, and resisting in October and was sentenced to 200 hours of community service. He only managed to do 80 of those hours.

As a result District Judge John Meehan revoked the community service order and imposed a suspended prison sentence of six weeks.

During the incident in the early hours in Irish Street he stood in the middle of the road, stopping traffic, yelling and making rude gestures. When police intervened he ran off. Subsequently caught, he lashed out at the officers and refused to give his details and claimed to be two comic book characters.
