Toomebridge car breaker fined over waste offences
Brian Ferris (29) of Tamnaghmore Road, Toomebridge, was fined a total of £300 plus court costs of £25 for breaches of waste management legislation.
Officers from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency visited a site adjacent to 19 Tamnaghmore Road, Toomebridge, where a quantity of controlled wastes in the form of End of Life vehicles and parts of end of life vehicles was deposited. The site was operating as a vehicle breaking yard and Mr Ferris was the operator of site.
Approximately 200 End of Life Vehicles were observed on site. The site did not have a licence to operate as an authorised treatment facility for end of life vehicles. Mr Ferris has since cleared the site of any waste.
