Formed in 2012 the company directly employs 45 people and a workforce of over 100 local subcontractors. An in-house manufacturing division supports the business with high capacity output of traditional and contemporary joinery products.

Finance for the £50m Growth Loan Fund – which provides loans to established Northern Ireland SMEs seeking to access growth finance – has been provided by Invest Northern Ireland and private investor, Northern Ireland Local Government Officers’ Superannuation Committee (NILGOSC).

Allan Campbell from ECSJ said: “Since receiving the loan two years ago we were able to secure a number of high profile contracts with top tier clients, our success on these projects together with our quality workmanship, competitiveness and professional approach has helped identify us as a market leader in our sector.

“The loan also gave us a good platform to help pull together a robust and ambitious growth plan from the outset, including securing a strong strategic partnership with McAleer & Rushe, who have been very supportive and instrumental in helping Edgewater achieve its success to date.”

Company Director Cathy Murtagh said: “As we continue to secure new business we will look to expand our workforce further. Although the majority of our work is based in the UK mainland, we anticipate a number of projects starting in Northern Ireland next year.

“We have already completed a number of major hotel, apartment and retail projects throughout the UK and Ireland.”

Looking ahead, Managing Director Seamus Murray said: “We currently have work with a number of clients to include Redrow, the Amaris Hospitality Group and Dalata Hotel Group covering the width and breadth of the UK and Ireland. Our geographic presence and growing reputation are leading to increased enquiries and tendering opportunities.”

“This is an exciting time for our business, which is a credit to the hard work and commitment shown from our workforce.” For more information about the Growth Loan Fund’s criteria please contact [email protected] or go to www.growthloanfund.com.
