Top awards for Fusion Theatre

Fusion Theatre has won Best Youth Show at the NODA awards and has also been nominated at the AIMS awards.

The NODA awards were held on 14th May and Fusion won Best Youth Show for Sunshine on Leith. They were up against themselves in this category for Aida.

A spokesperson said: “As we all know the talent within our cast is second to none and it is great when others recognise this.

“We were honoured to have three nominations within the individual award category. A massive well done to Blathnaid McCaughey, Michael Drake and Megan McGarry, who all got runner up in their category.”

The AIMS nominations were also announced this week and Fusion is ‘thrilled’ to have been nominated for the Spirit of AIMS/Adjudicator’s Special Award (Jan Canavan Trophy) for Whistle down the Wind.

It was described as a ‘Family Affair – A quite superbly portrayed and emotionally stirring relationship between a grieving widower and his disillusioned daughter, from youth performers Cameron Mack as Boone and Lucy Donnelly as Swallow’.

“Fusion Theatre is truly delighted to receive these nominations and awards” the spokesperson said.

“We are currently preparing for upcoming show The Beautiful Game which runs in the Island Hall between the 7th – 10th September. Tickets available from the box office.”
