Top Cabs driver mourned

He was the dearly loved husband of Jennifer. John was up and about his usual when the sudden seizure occurred.

Born in Lisburn, John moved to Banbridge in the early years with his family and there he attended St Mary’s Primary School and then St Patrick’s College.

After leaving school he was in different jobs until he started driving with Top Cabs where he was held in high esteem by all the drivers there.

He enjoyed motor sports, especially watching them on television and enjoyed socializing with his many friends, he also enjoyed fishing with his friends but his main interest was centred around his home and family and it is there that his passing will be mostly felt.

He is survived by his wife Jenny, father James, brother Patrick, sister Catherine, mother-in-law, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral took place on Saturday morning from William Bell and Co. Funeral Home for a service in St Patrick’s Church, Dromore Street.

As the cortege left the Funeral Home the hearse was preceded by his taxi from Top Cabs with one following as a tribute to the esteem in which John was held. At the service in St Patrick’s Church Father Tony Corr paid a fitting tribute.

Mrs. Maria Quinn sang during the service. Father Tony Corr also officiated at the burial in St Patrick’s Cemetery. Beautiful floral tributes were placed on the grave from his wife and family and donations in lieu of flowers are being sent to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for Alzheimer’s Disease Society.
