Whilst planning was approved for a 100 bedroom hotel on the site in 2009, Diamond Investments will lodge a further application to increase the prestigious development to 120 rooms.

Liam Ward, Managing Director of the Castledawson based, Diamond Investments Ltd said:

“There is no doubt that the Ballycastle area suffers from a deficit in hotel provision, not only for the local population but also to act as a base for visitors to explore one of the most scenic areas of Europe.

“The tourism potential of our development will not only create local employment but act as an economic stimulus for the wider area.

“With major attractions such as The Giant’s Causeway, the Glens of Antrim, Rathlin Island and Ballycastle itself, our proposal will attract overseas tourists to sample the unique wonders that Ballycastle and the wider Moyle district has to offer.”

Diamond Investments will unveil more detail surrounding the project in the coming weeks.
