Neill said: “Being part of the Mencap ‘family’ greatly enriched our lives as a family and this was a reward in itself.

“I would encourage others, whether they have a disabled family member or are just interested in helping the learning disabled community, to consider giving a little of their time in a voluntary capacity towards the work of Mencap.

“The friendly and efficient staff at Segal House will be pleased to talk with you and help you to identify the best opportunities of voluntary service that would meet your particular interests and talent.”

Mencap provides volunteering opportunities all year around in all aspects of our work. To get involved with Mencap or to find out current volunteering opportunities please contact Kerry Spence on [email protected].
