Top marks at Limavady Grammar School

RESULTS issued last Thursday were once again testament to the standards of post-primary education at Limavady Grammar School.

78% of all students at Limavady Grammar School attained 3+ grades A*-C at Advanced Level. 28 students gained three or more straight A grades, with eight pupils receiving 4 grade A*A’s. Ruth Bunting, Head Girl achieved the new elite A* grade in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. More than 90% of all grades awarded were at A*- C level.

Speaking about the results, Mr Robert Wilson, Principal commented: “These results reflect the hard work of our students, the industry and commitment of their teachers and the support provided by the parents of our young people. The ethos of our school is based on our mission statement Learning, Caring, Preparing for Life.

“The Sixth Formers who are leaving us have been part of a child-centred, academic focused grammar school and their outstanding A Level grades are only part of the rounded young men and women who will face the future with confidence. The input and support from Staff in Limavady High School, St Mary’s College and NWRC for our pupils taking link courses as part of the RVLC is much appreciated. The Senior Leadership Team and the whole staff are delighted with the pupils’ successes.”

With competition for university places being greater than ever, the vast majority of the Limavady Grammar School pupils have been successful in gaining a course of their choice.
