Top marks for Dromara PS

The Minister of Education, Peter Weir also visited the school in the wake of these excellent inspection results.

The Inspection focused on three areas: children’s achievements in literacy and numeracy, the overall quality of provision for learning in the school; and the quality of leadership and management, all of which were assessed as ‘Very Good’.

The Report recognised ‘the welcoming and mutually supportive atmosphere in the school community and the continuous focus which staff place on extending the quality of the children’s experiences and achievements, which impacts positively on the children’s all-round development’.

Principal, Andrew Armstrong, said: “I am delighted that Dromara Primary School received the highest overall standard in the recent focussed inspection.

“This is testament to the commitment and dedication of all of the staff at the school who work exceptionally hard to ensure that our pupils are receiving the best possible learning experiences. I want to thank our parents also for the continuing support that they give to the teachers and to their children’s learning.

“The Inspection Report certainly provides a validation of all the very good work that goes on in Dromara Primary School and we can look forward to continuing that work into the future.”
