Top Pipe Bands come to town this Saturday

THE PIPES and drums from Northern Ireland’s leading bands will march into Ballymena Showgrounds for the 38th Annual Co. Antrim Pipe Band & Drum Major Championships, this Saturday.

Ballymena is proud to welcome all the bands, officials and visitors to Ballymena where they will test their skills against the best local bands in each of their respective grades.

In addition to the competition, Ballymena Showgrounds will be showcasing added attractions such as Scottish Highland Dancing, children’s entertainment and much more.

The competition will help showcase the magnificent facilities which the Showgrounds now boast. The Showgrounds, situated as it is close to the heart of the Town is a perfect base from where to shop, visit the Ecos Environmental Centre and Peoples Park or the Museum & Arts Centre at the Braid – all are a short walk away.

If you are staying longer there are a wide variety of excellent hotels and bed & breakfast accommodation.

Ballymena Borough Council is kindly hosting the event and have already put an amount of effort into facilitating it at the Showgrounds. With only days to go until the big event the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (Co. Antrim Section) and Ballymena Borough Council are continuing to work in partnership to ensure the event is the best championships ever.

To ensure you don’t miss any of the drones and beats from the 38th Annual Co. Antrim Pipe Band & Drum Major Championships gates will open from 9.30am when bands will be arriving to fine tune in the practice arenas.
