Top prices at McAfee Auctions

McAfee Auctions sale in Ballycastle last week attracted a larger number of viewers over the five viewing sessions resulting in a good turnout on the night, a large number of bids left, and busy telephone lines throughout the evening.

Top price of the sale was £950, received for a Birmingham Silver Four Piece Tea Service, while other pieces of Silver also did well and included a Pair of Silver Tazzas £210, a Silver Bowl £220, Two Small Embossed Silver Dishes £80.

Demand was also good for a number of Gold Rings £420, £320 and £190, while a lot of Scrap Silver realised £290 and a lot of Scrap Gold realised £220.

Furniture on the evening including Two Bedroom Suites at £380 and £260, a Dining Room Suite £300, Console Table for Restoration £280, Four Door Sideboard for Restoration £200, Oriental Display Cabinet £200, Mamas and Papas Rocking Horse £190, Inlaid Settee £210, Fall Front Bureau £150, Inlaid Small Sideboard £110, Oil Lamp £110, Piano Stool £50.
