Tough lesson for Bertie Peacock Under 13's

BERTIE Peacock Under 13's received a tough lesson on Saturday.

Despite racing into a 2-0 lead against Larne, the young footballers failed to pick up a point, as the visitors ran out 3-2 winners.

The opening goal came from Ross MacIlFatrick, this steadied the side before a Larne player found his own net to put the ‘Wee Ants’ 2-0 in front.

Larne stepped up the pressure after this and the young Peacocks were fighting for every ball.

The second half was a different affair, as the Coleraine side lost their shape and allowed Larne to bring the game back to 2-2.

A penalty minutes from the end completed a bad day for the young Peacocks as Larne ran out 3-2 winners.

The under 13’s take on Linfield this Saturday.

Under 14’s too strong for Foyle Harps

The Under 14’s just keep on winning.

Six wins out of six sees the side in confident form ahead of this Saturday’s game with St Oliver Plunkett’s.

The Under 14’s travelled to play Foyle Harps on Saturday.

The Coleraine side piled on the pressure from the start and Mitchell opened the scoring after some fine play by Law and Herald.

The second goal came from a Foyle Harps player after some fine play by Kane.

Edgar headed home a Law cross, to increase the lead to 3-0, just before the break.

Woods, Dallas, Ryan Whiteside, Boreland and Magee all came on and it wasn’t long before Woods made his mark on the game. He set up Mitchell who grabbed his second with a fine header.

Foyle Harps grabbed a consolation goal to leave the final score 4-1.

The under 14’s take on SOPYC this Saturday, the game, at UUC has a 11am kick off.

Four-midable performance by Under 15’s

The Under 15’s travelled to Woodvale to take on Lisburn on Saturday.

Ryan Millar opened the scoring for Bertie’s after he latched on to a stray pass from a Lisburn defender, he looped the ball over the keeper into the net.

The Coleraine side were guilty of taking their foot off the gas after this and they allowed Lisburn to pull a goal back. With half time approaching, Lisburn took the lead after keeper, Travis Doherty clipped a Lisburn striker as he rushed out of his box.

After the break Millar grabbed his second of the game when he skipped past two defenders to drill an unstoppable shot past the Libsurn keeper. And minutes later he grabbed his third to leave the score 3-2.

Nicky Kerr rounded off a good performance with a fourth goal for the Peacocks.

Lisburn weren’t to be outdone and they battled until the end, with minutes left they found the net to leave the final score 4-3.
