Tourist centre could cost £10 million

A NEW tourist/leisure centre for Moyle would cost in the region of £10.5 million if it was to get the go-ahead, councillors have been told.

Recently Moyle councillors agreed that such a centre would be a boost for the district which is one of the few in Northern Ireland without a Council-run swimming pool.

Councillors were told that to even prepare a design brief for the project it will cost around £40,000.

For years the absence of a Council-run swimming pool has created debate in Moyle .

Supporters of the scheme say it would add to the attraction of the area to tourists as a place to go on wet days.

And of course local people would be able to avail of the facilities too.
