Town centre vandalism 'not connected' to disturbances, say Carrick Police

POLICE in Carrick are appealing for information after several businesses and vehicles in the town centre were targeted by vandals overnight last Tuesday/Wednesday.

A number of windows at commercial premises were smashed, cars tyres were slashed and licence plates were broken off. The damage was confined to Market Place, West Street and Marine Highway.

A police spokeswoman said the incidents are not believed to be linked to the disturbances that took place at Catslemara, Eden and Ballyclare on the same date.

Anyone who witnessed any of the incidents or who has any information is asked to contact police at Carrickfergus on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
