Town Clerk paid £90,000-£100,000
THE salary for the position of Londonderry Town Clerk is one of the highest in Northern Ireland. The post of Derry City Council's top boss comes with a salary in the range between £90,000 and £100,000.
The Chief Executive of Council's in Belfast (120,000-130,000) and Newry and Mourne (110,000-120,000) are paid slightly more.Council bosses at Castlereagh, Down, Lisburn, Newtownabbey and North Down were paid from within the same range as the Derry City Council Chief Executive. The information was revealed by Environment Minister Edwin Poots in response to a query tabled at the Stormont Assembly.
The Strabane local authorty chief is entitled to between 80-90,000 and his counterpart in Limavady between 70-80,000.
