Town needs to be ready for big parade says Gaston

Ballymenna needs urgent on-street action if town traders are to benefit from the massive Royal Black Preceptory parade at the end of this month, says a local councillor.

TUV Bannside representative, Timothy Gaston said he had raised concerns about the impact ongoing public realm works would have on the parade back in March.

“This week I have yet again raised this with the Chief Executive of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, with particular focus on making the town centre look good ahead of the August 27 parade. I have been frustrated with the delays and appearance of the Public Realm Scheme but it is essential that we show off Ballymena’s potential on Black Saturday and to encourage even more visitors.”
