The trio said: “This major work, costing £160,000 has ensured the bridge is now structurally secure, and will deliver real benefits for the local community. The addition of a mesh canopy will ensure the safety of users by increasing their visibility.

“Craigavon council has been lobbying the Executive for these improvements on behalf of the local residents, and its very satisfying to now see this work completed.

“I would now hope that this investment, supported by the local community, will bring to an end the anti social behaviour that has plagued this bridge for many years.

“We all want to thank the Minister, Danny Kennedy MLA, who has taken a personal interest in this project, and has once again demonstrated the Ulster Unionist Party’s commitment to Craigavon”
