A BID is an arrangement whereby businesses get together, decide what improvements they want to make, how they are going to manage and deliver those improvements and what it will cost them to do so.

Balloting of town centre businesses is currently underway and the outcome will be formally announced at a conference being held in The Braid on that date.

The conference is the conclusion of the EU funded BID Interreg Programme of which Ballymena is lead council.

Bringing details to a Council committee last week, Council’s Economic & Tourism Development Manager, Sean Trainor said: “It is hoped that this event will bring a positive vote, resulting in Ballymena being the first BID town centre in Northern Ireland”.
