Tractor and trailer thieves strike again

Thieves attempted to steal a tractor and trailer in Gilford last night (Tuesday).

Police said both were taken from a yard and then abandoned a short distance away.

Just last week, during the night of February 18, a tractor and trailer worth £40,000 were stolen from a farm yard on Ballylough Road, Gilford.

The tractor, a blue New Holland TM140, should be bearing the registration EJZ 4375 and may have a crack in the lower glass panel of the cab window. The feeding wagon was full of silage when stolen.

The PSNI have warned, “Be aware...Secure your machines, lock your gates, if possible put things inside at night time. If you have the means to do so think about installing security lighting and/or CCTV. Regularly check your yards and fields and report any suspicious behaviour.”
