Tractor run raises total of £770

Rain failed to dampen the spirits of participants in the road run organised by the Ballynure Vintage Tractor Ploughing Society.

Forty-three tractors took part, leaving Allen McAnally’s at Braepark Road, travelling through Upper Ballyboley Road, to Shane’s Hill; Lower Ballyboley Road; Moss Road, over the new A8, the new Ballybracken Road; the new bridge to Lismanery Road, to Lower Ballyboley Road; Ballyeaston, Ballyalbanagh Road, Sawmill Road and back to the starting point for a barbecue, served up by the ladies of Ballyboley Pipe Band.

The event has raised £520 for Ballyboley Pipe Band and £250 for Ballynure Vintage Tractor Ploughing Society.

Organiser Allen McAnally expressed thanks to all those who took part; farmers and landowners; sponsors and those who gave donations; the ladies for the catering; Jackson’s for the food, and everyone who helped to make the event successful.
