Traffic calming needed in Glenavy

Lisburn Councillor Pat Catney has called for traffic calming measures to be introduced in Glenavy following an accident in the village last weekend.

Mr Catney has sought a meeting with the Police and others to work towards reducing speed in the area. “I was very sad to hear of a traffic accident which took place in Glenavy last weekend,” he said. “There is increasing concern from residents at the speed of motor vehicles travelling through the village.

“Traffic calming measures are needed if we are to ensure the safety of pedestrians and young people in the area.
