Traffic concerns discussed

Councillor David Herron requested at a recent meeting of Banbridge District Council, that kerb edges and the footway along the Rathfriland Road at Ballyroney be swept as they were in a mucky state.

Meanwhile, Councillor Liz Ingram requested that footways located along the Banbridge Road, Rathfriland, be swept, particularly at the junction with Lissize Road and the Rathfriland Farmers’ Co-operative Society Ltd livestock yard.

Councillor Paul Gribben remarked how he had received numerous complaints regarding traffic congestion along the Banbridge Road, when the livestock yard was in operation.

Mr Herron stated that the popularity of the livestock yard was a contributing factor to the traffic congestion.
