Traffic restrictions at Culmore for four weeks to facilitate £100k works

TRAFFIC restrictions will be in place on the Culmore Road for up to four weeks to facilitate a £100k sewer extension.

NI Water said it was pleased to announce that work will commence shortly on the scheme on the Ardan Road, Culmore to provide sewerage services for a new housing development. The work is scheduled to commence on Monday, November 19 and will last approximately 3-4 weeks.

The works will take place from the entrance with Cranlee Park, past Hollybush Primary School and will finish approximately 20 metres from the junction with the Culmore Road. We appreciate the fact that the Ardan Road, in the vicinity of Hollybush Primary School is extremely busy during the morning and afternoon periods, and we have been working closely with DRD Road Service and Hollybush Primary School about the work.

In order to maintain traffic flow, it will be necessary to implement a one way system on the Ardan Road between the Culmore Rd and the entrance to Cranlee Park. This one way closure will operate as follows: traffic will only be able to enter Ardan Road from the Culmore Road; traffic will not be able to exit Ardan Road onto Culmore Road; no parking will be allowed outside the school or within the turning circle for the duration of the works and cars will not be permitted to stop outside the school; to gain access to the Culmore Road, a diversion will be signposted via the Coney Rd and exiting onto the Culmore Rd at The Magnet Bar

There may be some delays in the area while this work takes place and NI Water and our contractor Quinn’s Automatic Ltd would like to thank the public in advance for their patience and cooperation during this scheme and would like to assure you that we will do everything that we can to minimise disruption in the area.
