Trail of churches in Rasharkin

FOLLOWING the successful launch of their Booklet, a Short History of Rasharkin, the local History Group arranged a Trail of the Churches in the village.

They were joined by twenty eight local people and went to Rasharkin Free Presbyterian Church, Rasharkin Presbyterian, St. Andrews Church of Ireland and St. Marys Roman Catholic, where at all they were informed of the History the Churches, their forms of Worship, special events held over the year and then had a tour of the buildings.

Afterwards lunch was enjoyed in the Community Centre.

Future events planned by the History Group, to which all are invited, are a visit on the 17th July to the Workhouse Museum and Tower Museum in Derry concluding with a walk on the famous Walls. It is planned to leave Rasharkin at 9.45 am and return for 6.00pm.
