Train the Trainer: Drug & Alcohol Practitioner call

CAUSEWAY Rural and Urban Network is running a 12-week Train the Trainer: Drug & Alcohol Practitioner course which is accredited by the Open College Network at Level 3 at the Sandel Centre, Coleraine, beginning on April 19.

This course is an essential tool for anyone working in the statutory or voluntary and community sectors with an interest or remit in delivering substance misuse programmes.

Topics covered include: Training and learning theory; Drug categories and the law; Effects of substance use on the body and mind ; Carrying out a training needs analysis; Planning and practice in training delivery; Feedback and evaluation.

This course is open to anyone that has an interest in becoming a community trainer. Places are strictly limited to 10 participants per course

Please note this course requires participants to hold OCN or OCR Level 2 in Drugs Awareness (or a similarly recognised qualification) or have requisite knowledge and awareness about drugs and drug issues through professional practice.
