Training Award for Michelin & ETS

Michelin Ballymena and Engineering Training Services have won a prestigious training award as part of their apprenticeship provision across Northern Ireland.

The ‘Innovation in Partnership’ award was presented to Tyres Plc and their partner ETS at the recent Department of Employment and Learning NI Apprenticeship Awards.

The Innovation award which recognised the achievement and foresight of Michelin and ETS in developing and delivering a bespoke Business Improvement Techniques Apprenticeship programme to 18 employees within Michelin.

This resulted in almost £100,000 in savings as a result of the implementation of five improvement projects.

In addition, the initiative also saw participants complete up to five nationally recognised qualificiations including an NVQ and technical certificate in Business Improvement Techniques as well as English, Maths and ICT essential skills qualifications.
