“We can confirm that eight Ulsterbus vehicles have been damaged in an attack in Lisburn,” she said. “Windows on the vehicles were smashed at the depot on Hillsborough Road sometime on Sunday overnight. This caused minor service disruption on Monday with all services back to normal by the afternoon.

“We condemn all attacks on our vehicles, property and staff and work closely with the local community, schools and PSNI in an effort to reduce this kind of antisocial behaviour.”

She said that a cash reward will be given to anyone who witnessed the incident and are prepared to give evidence in court.

“We also operate a cash reward scheme offering up to £1000 reward to any member of the public who witnesses any incident of vandalism, trespass or assault against a member of staff and is prepared to give evidence in court, resulting in a conviction to encourage people to report incidents of vandalism to the company,” she said.

“We would appeal to anyone with information to contact the PSNI on 0845 600 8000.”

Police are also urging anyone who may have any information to ring them 0845 600 8000.
