Translink supports Castlerock WalkFest

Translink has announced its support for the sixth annual Castlerock WalkFest organised by the Castlerock Community Association in conjunction with the National Trust.

The Festival will take place across the scenic North Coast on Saturday, September 3 and consists of guided walks in Binevenagh Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Downhill and the Bann Estuary, using Castlerock village as a base.

Paddy Bailie, of Castlerock Walkfest said: “We are delighted Translink are once again sponsoring the popular walking festival of the beautiful North Coast for the sixth year. Translink will provide bus transport for the Hill Walks and there is an opportunity for a pair of participants to win free train travel when they register for the Bellarena Challenge Walk.

“We are encouraging all walkers to get on board public transport to the Castlerock WalkFest.

“Whether it is by bus or train, it is a great way to enjoy the beautiful scenery and rest before the walk challenge starts.”

Sam Todd, Translink Service Delivery Manager said: ““We will be offering a range of great value bus and train tickets to get people to Castlerock during the event. These include our Friends and Family tickets providing unlimited all-day Translink travel for up to 2 adults and 4 children for just £22 or a third-off NI Railways day return tickets direct to Castlerock Rail Station.”
