Blaze kills seven cattle

A FIRE in a barn on the Bannview Road in Banbridge has killed seven cattle.

The blaze was reported in the early hours of this morning and the Fire and Rescue Service responded to the call at 2.30am.

When they arrived they found “a well developed fire” in the barn, according to District Commander Spence who added that it was an “upsetting” call and that that the farmer was “distraught.”

It is thought the fire at the property, which is understood to be mainly a beef farm, began due to an electrical fault.
