Carriageway closed for emergency drainage investigation in Newtownabbey

Motorists are advised that a section of the A6 Antrim Road in Glengormley is to be closed this week for an emergency drainage investigation.

The lane closure, which commenced at 9.30am today (Monday), is operating from the Carnmoney Road to Church Way.

A Department for Infrastructure (DfI) spokesperson said the closure is required daily for an emergency drainage investigation.

The work is being carried out by a DfI Roads contractor.

The work is set to be completed by 4.30pm on Friday, June 26.

Road users are advised to expect an estimated delay of up to five minutes.

Meanwhile, a lane closure is operating at the Mill Road Roundabout in the Whitehouse area of Newtownabbey.

The closure, which started at 9.30am this morning, is running from the junction of Longlands Road to the junction of Felden Avenue.

The lane closure is required daily for NI Water chamber inspection works.

Motorists are advised to expect delays of up to five minutes.

The work is due to be finished by 4pm on Tuesday, June 23.
