Carrickfergus road to be closed for park and ride works

Motorists are advised that a section of Trooperslane Road in Carrick will be closed for works at the site of a new park and ride facility.

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council approved plans for the new facility in June 2020.

The road closure, which will commence at 9.30am on Friday, January 22, will operate from the junction with Dunmore Park to 350m south of the junction with Dunmore Park.

A Department for Infrastructure (DfI) spokesperson said: “The closure is required for Translink park and ride site entry construction works.

“An alternative eastbound route is Upper Road, Woodburn Road, Ellis Street, Minorca Place, Davys Street, Belfast Road.

“An alternative westbound route is Upper Road, Old Carrick Road, Monkstown Road, Jordanstown Road, Shore Road.”

The work is due to be completed by 5pm on Saturday, January 23.
