Crash victim James remains critical
THE Rathfriland teenager seriously injured in a road crash two weeks ago remained in a critical condition in the Royal Victoria Hospital last night (Monday).
James Annett (19) was left fighting for his life after two cars collided on the Banbridge Road just outside the town on Tuesday August 26. Gary Elliott, who drove the car in which James was a passenger, was released from Daily Hill Hospital last week.
James, who was thought to be making slow progress last Friday in the Intensive Care Unit, is understood to have had a difficult weekend and his family remains at his bedside as the Rathfriland community continues to pray for the teenager.
Shortly after the crash an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and released on bail pending further enquiries.
