Daniel had many gifts

The community in which he lived is still coming to terms with his sudden death on Wednesday night.

Daniel was a third year student at Lurgan Junior High School and a former pupil of King’s Park Primary School.

He lived in Demesne Avenue and was the son of Gary and Karen and brother of Stuart, Graeme, Zoe and Joel.

The funeral and thanksgiving service for Daniel’s life took place at The Salvation Army Citadel in Union Street on Saturday.

It was conducted by Major Graham Wood and Captain Keira Wood. A tribute was also paid by Debbie Neish who had been a youth leader at the time of Daniel’s involvement.

Daniel was born in 1997 and had attended activities at The Salvation Army over a number of years. He had many gifts and an essentially likeable nature which endeared him to many.

Daniel enjoyed drama and what’s more he was good at it. He took the role of Buttons in a school production of Cinderella at King’s Park Primary School – a role that could have been written specifically for Daniel.

When asked how they remembered Daniel, his friends from the Salvation Army said he was someone who loved a joke, an outgoing, thoughtful, very funny and quick-witted person who always found just the right words to say to make them smile.

Major Wood said: “Our hearts go out to Daniel’s family and we give thanks to God for his life and the particular way it touched ours.”
