Diversion in place during Whitehead works

Motorists are advised that a section of Windsor Avenue in Whitehead is closed this week for works.

The road closure, which commenced at 7am today (Monday, August 10), is operating from Alexandra Avenue to Kings Road.

A Department for Infrastructure (DfI) spokesperson said: “The closure is required daily for resurfacing work.

“An alternative route is Alexandra Avenue - Cable Road - Kings Road and vice versa.”

The work is being carried out by a DfI Roads contractor.

Road users are advised to expect an estimated delay of up to five minutes.

The work is set to be completed by 6pm on Friday, August 14.

Meanwhile, a section of North Road in Carrickfergus is closed for emergency repairs.

The lane closure, which commenced at 9.3oam today, is operating from The Avenue to North Road.

A DfI spokesperson said: “The closure is required off-peak only for emergency pole repair works.”

The work is being conducted by a BT contractor.

Motorists are advised to expect an estimated delay of up to five minutes.

The work is due to be completed by 4.30pm on August 10.
