East Antrim roads closed for works

A road closure is operating in the Mill Brae area of Larne from Cuillin Heights to Kernox Gardens.

A Department for Infrastructure (DfI) spokesperson said: “The closure is required off-peak only for dangerous tree cutting.

“An alternative route is Mill Brae - Antiville Road - The Roddens - Lower Cairncastle Road.”

The work is being carried out by a DfI contractor.

Road users are advised to expect an estimated delay of up to five minutes.

The work, which commenced at 8.30am today (Thursday), is set to be completed at 4.30pm today.

Meanwhile, a section of the A2 Shore Road in Greenisland is closed for works.

The lane closure, which commenced at 9.30am today, is operating from Station Road (B90) to Oldstone Close.

A DfI spokesperson said: “The closure is required daily for installation of new drainage.”

The work is being conducted by a DfI Roads contractor.

Delays of up to five minutes are expected.

The work is due to be completed by 4.30pm today.
