‘Emergency burst’ causing issues for Newtownabbey motorists

Motorists are being advised to approach the junction of the Old Carrick Road and Monkstown Road with caution due to a burst water main in the area.

A Department for Infrastructure (DfI) spokesperson said: “We have received reports of an emergency burst from Northern Ireland Water at the junction of Old Carrick Road and Monkstown Road.

“NI Water have installed a contraflow and black out the left turning signal for turning onto the Monkstown Road to keep the traffic flowing safely. Please approach with caution.”
