Foyle Bridge closure!

Traffic backlogged on Foyle Bridge due to an accident.

Work began on the carriageway on Tuesday, May 6 and will last for a week.

To facilitate the works it will be necessary to operate a contra-flow system from 7am on Tuesday, May 6, until 6am on Saturday 10 May.

A full road closure is required from 6am on Saturday 10 May until 8pm on Sunday, May 11, for traffic travelling westwards from Caw Roundabout to Culmore Roundabout.

Traffic travelling in the opposite direction (Culmore Roundabout to Caw Roundabout) will be unaffected by this closure.

A diversionary route will be signposted via Limavady Road, Craigavon Bridge, Strand Road and Culmore Road.

The above planned dates are subject to favourable weather conditions and Roads Service will keep the public informed of any change.

Roads Service has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.
