Lower speed limit at Culcrow School?

CONSIDERATION is being given to the installation of a speed restriction scheme at Culcrow Primary School, Aghadowey, following complaints from Coleraine councillors.

DoE Roads Service recently attended a meeting of Council and was asked by Councillor Richard Holmes to look into reducing speed at the Curragh Road school to 40mph.

In a written response to Council last week, members were told an assessment procedure was underway and they would be notified of its outcome in due course.

The letter read: “We have arranged a meeting with the PSNI to discuss this location as part of Roads Service Policy and Procedure Guide: RSPPG_E051 ‘Setting Local Speed Limits in Northern Ireland’.
