M5 southbound to be closed overnight for works

Motorists are advised that the M5 southbound will be closed overnight for major maintenance.

The road closure, which will commence at 11pm tonight (Tuesday, August 25), will operate from Rush Park Roundabout to M2 southbound.

A Department for Infrastructure (DfI) spokesperson said: “The closure is required overnight only for major maintenance.

“An alternative route is Rush Park Roundabout - Shore Road - York Road - York Street - Dock Street - Nelson Street.”

The work is being carried out by DfI Roads contractors.

Road users are advised to expect an estimated delay of up to five minutes.

The work is set to be completed by 6am on Wednesday, August 26.
