It follows discussions by David Hilditch MLA and Councillor Cheryl Johnston with Barn Halt Cottages residents and users of Carrickfergus Health Centre at Taylor’s Avenue, where parking on double yellow lines and pavements has been restricting access for people, including mobility scooter users.

The DUP representatives say they pressed the Department for Infrastructure (Roads) for the following: replacement bollards, renewal of yellow lines on Taylor’s Avenue, new dropped kerb crossing point at Taylor’s Avenue/McKeen’s Avenue and road markings at the entrance and exit of the health centre and cottages.

They added: “Our thanks to the Department for Infrastructure for the quick turnaround with these improvements which will make a massive difference to residents in the area.”
