Newtownabbey resurfacing scheme commences

A resurfacing scheme on Beverley Gardens and Kimberley Road in Newtownabbey has been welcomed.

South Antrim DUP MLA Pam Cameron and her party colleague, Cllr Stephen Ross, commended the Department for Infrastructure on approving this improvement scheme.

Mrs Cameron said: “Residents had reported the poor condition of the road some time ago and subsequently, alongside Cllr Ross, we hosted a site meeting with officials from the Department for Infrastructure in both Beverley Gardens and Kimberley Road.

“This issue was raised on a number of occasions with the Roads Service, therefore I was delighted to see this work commence and trust that it will be completed as promptly as possible.”

Threemilewater Cllr Stephen Ross also welcomed the scheme and said that “this is just two of a number of roads within the Carnmoney and Mossley area which we will continue to highlight with the Department.

“The work started in Beverley and Kimberley will be a great improvement for the residents and road users.”

The resurfacing scheme commenced on March 10 and is due to last for a number of weeks.
