Newtownabbey roads closed for works

Motorists are advised that a section of the Antrim Road in Newtownabbey is closed for Phoenix Natural Gas works.

The lane closure, which commenced at 9.30am today (Tuesday, September 15), is operating from 65m to 75m from junction with Swanston Road country bound.

A Department for Infrastructure (DfI) spokesperson said: “The closure is required daily to provide a gas connection. Lights and same day reinstatement will be utilized.”

The work is being carried out by Phoenix Natural Gas.

Road users are advised to expect an estimated delay of up to five minutes.

The work is set to be finished by 4.30pm today.

Meanwhile, a lane closure is operating on the Hydepark Road in Newtownabbey from Hydepark Lane to Hydepark Close.

A DfI spokesperson said the closure is required off-peak only for NIW water connection.

Road users are advised to expect an estimated delay of up to five minutes.

The work is due to be completed by 4.30pm today.
