Police investigating M2 ‘bridge strike’

Roads Policing officers are investigating the report of a “bridge strike” on the M2 earlier this week.

Appealing for information, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Roads Policing officers from Steeple are investigating a report of a bridge strike on lane four to the southbound bridges of the M2 at Fortwilliam on Wednesday, February 3 at approximately 7.40am involving a white lorry.

“If you witnessed this, or have dash cam footage, can you contact police on 101, quoting reference 685 on 4/2/21.”

Meanwhile, the Newtownabbey Times reported on Wednesday that motorists had been advised to avoid the Sandyknowes area after a lorry shed its load on Sandyknowes Roundabout.
