Philip Glasgow is understood to have fallen from a roof while working last Thursday, and according to the Belfast Health Trust is still in a critical condition at Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital.

The past pupil of Cookstown high School and South West College is a joiner by trade and has in the past won awards for his work whilst training as an apprentice.

A well wisher online has asked people to pray for Philip, while a prayer vigil has been organised at Killycurragh Gospel Hall at 8pm on Friday

She posted on February 19: "Our neighbour had a work accident on Thursday and (is) critical at Royal Victoria Hospital at present.

"All we can do is pray for Philip and the family and leave them in God's hands."

Well-wishers are hoping he will "have a speedy recovery" with "love, thoughts and strength to his family".

The Health and Safety Executive has confirmed that it aware of the incident and that it has opened an investigation.

Keith Buchanan, Mid Ulster Assembly candidate for the DUP, said: "Thoughts and prayers with Philip and his family following his serious accident."
