Road closed after accident

THE Belfast Road between Magheralin and Moira was closed for a lengthy period on Sunday evening following an accident involving four vehicles.

The collision happened just before 5pm and police closed the main road for over two hours with a diversion in place from Newforge Road in Magheralin to Clarehill Road/Meeting Street in Moira.

It’s understood the accident happened at ‘Quarry Bend’ on the Belfast Road.

Police confirmed four vehicles were involved in the collision though no one was seriously injured. They said the road had to be closed to allow the cars to be recovered.
