TRAGEDY

THE suicide of a 14-year-old boy has left the community at Demesne Avenue reeling this week.

And just over a day later police were called to the sudden death of a 28-year-old man on the same street. The cause of the man’s death is not known at this stage. Police say a crime is not suspected.

Fourteen year old Daniel Lennon, of Demesne Avenue, was laid to rest on Saturday. One of his neighbours David McAdam was buried on Monday as the Demesne Avenue area struggled to come to terms with the loss of two such young members of the community.

On Saturday morning Trevor Hobson, an ex-RUC man from Donard Gardens who had recently worked as a security guard at Tesco, died in an incident on the railway line between Portadown and Scarva.
