We have acted according to guidelines: Havana

THE management of the Shenanigans complex, where Havana is situated, yesterday issued a statement to the Times.

It read: “Following the disappearance of Chrissy Conor in December, management at Havana worked with the police to ascertain the whereabouts of Chrissy.

CCTV footage showed he entered Havana shortly after 11pm. Around midnight he was refused alcohol at the bar as per the code of conduct our staff follow.

“Shortly after this he was escorted off the premises by our door supervisors and pointed in the direction of the nearby taxi rank.

“CCTV showed that Chrissy left Havana unharmed and able to walk of his own accord and it is unclear how he came to be found inside the Montagu Hotel.

“We would like to reiterate that the PSNI have consistently advised management to escort customers to the rear of the property in order to avoid the staircase at the front.

“This was the advice given before December 2011 and there has been no subsequent change to this advice. Should the advice from the PSNI or Coleraine Borough Council change then we would act accordingly.

“Once again we extend our condolences to all of Chrissy’s family.”
