Wheel falls off moving car in Castledawson

A 'distressed' woman appears to have had a lucky escape on Mid Ulster's roads this morning after a wheel fell off her car as she drove along Hill Road, Castledawson.

Police said they were able to help the 'distressed female' after the incident was reported.

"Officers from C Section assisted with a distressed female today on the Hillhead Road," they said.

"A wheel had sheared off while she was driving.

"We stopped and spoke with her and arranged for her vehicle to be recovered.

"We retrieved her wheel from the hedge and she's now safe, well and settled at home."
